2 injured in truck wreck near Canton

CANTON — Two men were in good condition Saturday after a two-vehicle crash a little more than a mile north of town on Oklahoma 58, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Larry Daniel Reilly, 20, of Longdale, was in good condition at Okeene Municipal Hospital with head, leg and arm injuries. His passenger, Michael A. Louthan, 27, of Canton, was taken by ambulance to the hospital and was listed in good condition with arm, head and internal trunk injuries, according to an OHP report.

Louthan was pinned in the 1993 Ford pickup for 45 minutes before being freed by Canton Fire Department.

The crash happened at 12:22 a.m. Saturday when Reilly’s vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Larry David Reilly, 40, of Canton. Larry David Reilly wasn’t injured, according to the report.

The elder Reilly was chasing Larry Daniel Reilly northbound after a domestic dispute, according to OHP. Larry David Reilly’s 2003 Ford pickup rammed Larry Daniel Reilly’s vehicle three times from behind, causing it to exit off the east side of the road, before rolling twice and landing in the ditch, according to the report.

Larry David Reilly lost control of his vehicle and went off the east side of the road and struck a fence. He was wearing a seat belt, but neither occupant in Larry Daniel Reilly’s vehicle was wearing a seat belt.

The drivers of both vehicles had been drinking, the report states.
