This will be Lyn Livingston’s third visit to Enid and she comes for one specific purpose — to appraise personal property during Eagle Marketing’s Antique and Collector’s Market in the Chisholm Trail Expo Center.
“It’s been an annual event we have enjoyed doing. We have a lot of clients in the area. The response to this show has been very good. Many antique collection shows die out after their first run. This is going on its third year,” Livingston said.
The antique show will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. It will include several vendor booths with items and collectibles for sale.
Admission is free.
Tickets must be purchased, though, for Saturday’s Appraisal Fair, which will have two sessions — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Expo Center. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the Enid News & Eagle office, 227 W. Broadway.
During the appraisal fair, Livingston will offer antique appraisals and other advice, such as item care. She will not look at fine jewelry but will have a diamond appraiser with her. No firearms will be looked at, Livingston said.
“People who want things ap-praised should have their things packed well and in a rolling cart or something similar. That’s better than standing in line holding something for a length of time.
“We have limited time, so people who are seeking more than just an appraisal should have their specific questions ready,” Livingston said.
On Sunday, Wiggins Auctioneers of Enid will auction off 100 quality pre-approved items beginning at 2 p.m. at the Expo Center. Anyone wishing to have an item put in the auction may contact Vicki at Wiggins Auctioneers at 233-3066.
“This is a great opportunity to find great antiques at a reasonable price,” said Lynne Benkendorf, of Eagle Marketing.
“People have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with vendors. They stand a better chance of bargaining prices and get to look at items more closely including handling. That’s something you can’t do on eBay,” she said.
