DCLA homecoming held

Deer Creek-Lamont’s homecoming was a success. The week was fulfilled with spirit week. There were a lot of different categories with some well dressed students and faculty. Here are the week’s winners: PsycoDelic Day (freshmen class); Funky Hair Day (Resa Navarro); Decade Day (sophomore class); Battle of the Bands (Jessen Hodges and Dylan Dobson); Spirit Day (Jacob Blanton). The best decorated door went to the BPA. The homecoming royalty was Mindy Blaser, Queen, and Chad Mendenhall, King. Flower girl was Adriahna Blackburn and crown bearer was Palladin Compala.

The cross-country team held a meet at Kingfisher Sept. 19. Results are:

High school boys: (Jacob Blanton 35/92)

High school girls: (Lindsey Cambell 24/88, Marian Muegge 40/88, Ariel Warrior 51/88)

Junior high girls: (Jessica Blanton 9/73, Katherine Muegge 26/73, Kimberly Scott 50/73, Shelby McKee 54/73, Chi Anne Jeffries 61/73).

A big thank you goes out to all who came and supported the FFA & 4-H on their Chicken N Noodle dinner and a thank you to everyone who helped.

See You at the Pole was held Sept. 23. Chad Mendenhall and Derric Richards led us in prayer, and Lydia Looper led the songs. There were around 35 students and faculty attending the event.

Church

The Lamont United Methodist Church will hold a six week fireproof study at 6 p.m. starting Oct. 11. Nursery is provided.

The First Christian Church of Lamont has a program called “Elevate” for kids in the 1st grade through sixth grade every Wednesday night from 6 to 7:15 p.m.

The First Baptist Church has a program called “Team Kids” for kids age 6 through the sixth grade every Sunday night from 7 to 8:15 p.m.
