OETA in Enid to interview locals Oct. 7 about election

OETA will be in Enid Oct. 7 to do “man-on-the-street” interviews with local people about the upcoming general election.

The visit is part of the network’s statewide Voter Voices project, which collects ideas and opinions from Oklahomans on what election-year issues are important to them and what it will take for candidates to earn their votes.

The Voter Voices crew is traveling throughout the state and sharing their stories online and weeknights at 6:30 p.m. on the Oklahoma News Report.

“We get so few opportunities to go out to places like Enid, so we’ really excited about coming to town and talking to locals about the election so that we can get a personal, truly statewide view,” said Ashley Barcum, OETA public information manager. “I want to let your readers know we will be in town if they see the van and would like to offer their view.”

Voters also are encouraged to share their views on the election, candidates and issues online at www.oeta.tv.

Barcum said the interviews filmed in Enid on Oct. 7 will air about one week later.
