Billings Chamber of Commerce will meet today to finalize plans for Billings Wheat Country Festival, which will be Saturday.

The event will start at 7 a.m. with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, which includes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, served by Billings Rotary Club. The club uses the money raised to provide local scholarships.

The opening ceremony for the festival will be 9 a.m. Entertainment is planned throughout the day, including singers, Lenita Kennedy, Potter’s Clay, twirlers, square dancers and a cute kid review.

Town and Country Club will have its annual pie and cake auction, and Billings Historical Society will provide free tours of Renfrow-Miller Museum and Henry Bellmon Museum and Library. Billings Historical Society also will sell homemade bread and sandplum jelly.

A parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will feature Noble County Antique Tractor Club. Danny Ketts is parade coordinator and can be reached at (580) 725-3270.

Food booths and arts and crafts booths will be set up inside and outside of Billings Community Building.

Northwest Oklahoma Blood Institute bloodmobile will be at the festival for anyone interested in donating blood.

For information about any events, call Becky Hammock, director of the festival, at (580) 725-3589 or Betty Hayton at (580) 725-3258.
