Staff reports
Garfield County Sher-iff's Department deputies assisted Lahoma police Friday night after they stopped a vehicle with 20 illegal aliens in it.
Undersheriff Jerry Niles said Immigration and Naturalization Servi-ces was contacted in Okl-ahoma City, but because of a lack of manpower could not come to Laho-ma to pick up the detain-ees.
Officials were forced to release the 20 people, Niles said.
Lahoma police had stopped the vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. about a quarter mile east of Lahoma.
