History series slated in Enid

Northern Oklahoma Col-lege Enid and Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid will host a lecture series about the history and strength of the United States.

J. Rufus Fears, internationally distinguished scholar and author, and a professor at the University of Oklahoma, will present the series beginning Monday.

He received his doctorate from Harvard University and has won several awards, including three OU Professor of the Year awards.

Most of the five-part series, “America’s Legacy of Free-dom,” will be at NOC Enid, with the last lecture at Enid Symphony Center.

The event is free to the public, and college credit hours through NOC and NWOSU, as well as professional development credits, may be issued.

The lecture series schedule is:

• “The Declaration of In-dependence,” 7 p.m. Monday, Montgomery Hall, NOC Gantz Center.

• “Our Constitution,” 7 p.m. Sept. 22, Montgomery Hall, NOC Gantz Center.
