Box tops, aluminum cans being collected in Billings

Billings Partners in Education is collecting box tops for education. Last year, almost $200 in box tops were redeemed.
Box tops can be taken to the school or deposited in collection bins around town.

Billings FCA is collecting aluminum cans. Cans may be deposited in the FCA bins south of the ag building.

Billings Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday. Members are seeking a new president for the group and a nomination committee has been formed.
Chamber members also discussed plans for the upcoming Wheat Festival. The Wheat Festival has become a tradition in Billings, complete with arts and crafts, a parade, pie and cake auction, food booths, museum tours, antique tractors and entertainment.
Director of the festival is Becky Hammock. This year the festival will be Sept. 20. The event will kick off with Billings Rotary Club pancake breakfast. Town and Country Club will host the Northwest Oklahoma Blood Institute bloodmobile, a pie and cake auction and bingo at 1:30 p.m. Booths, both indoor and outdoor, for the festival are available. Indoor booth space is $20, and outdoor space is $15. To reserve booth space, contact Betty Hayton at (580) 725-3258.

Billings Rotary Club has changed its meeting day to noon Wednesdays at Main Street Café.
