Bank customers in Enid should see nothing but positives from the merger of NBC-Tulsa and NBC-Oklahoma City, said NBC Enid President Todd Earl.
The NBC board of directors has completed the merger of its two banking charters into a single entity, NBC Oklahoma. Both banks have been exclusively owned by NBC Corp. of Okla-homa Holding Co., and the merger will provide increased efficiencies for customers, bank officials said in a news release.
Corporate headquarters will be in Oklahoma City.
“As our community and state evolve, it is only natural that our bank would seek to evolve in ways that better fit the needs of our clients,” Earl said. “The merger of the two charters will allow greater flexibility for our clients, more convenience in that they become customers of any of our branches across the state with access to our network of ATMs. This merger will create an enhanced presence throughout Oklahoma without compromising our community and relationship-oriented banking style.”
The merger will remove “ a lot of organizational wrinkles,” Earl said, and will not result in any staffing changes at the Enid bank.
“NBC has always sought to provide local solutions to local needs,” he said. “This merger will bring the best of both of our charters to bear in serving our clients. NBC Oklahoma will be a more dynamic, more local and more efficient organization. Our clients will benefit from an expanded array of banking services combined with the familiarity of the bankers that you have trusted for years to meet your financial service needs.”
NBC Oklahoma has total assets of more than $405 million; loans of nearly $313 million; and total capital of $32.9 million. The bank has nine branches in seven cities, with a network of 10 ATMs.
NBC has a long history in Oklahoma, tracing its roots to 1931 in Altus. The bank Walter Gover chartered grew to include banks in Altus, Enid, Kingfisher and Tulsa. The NBC-Oklahoma City charter encompassed banks in Oklahoma City, Edmond and Nichols Hills.
Randy Royse, of Oklahoma City, has been named president and CEO of NBC, and H.K. Hatcher has been promoted to president of NBC Oklahoma City. The other market presidents, including Earl, will remain. The others are Jeff Greenlee, NBC Altus; Rod Marso, NBC Edmond; Dennis Themer, NBC Kingfisher; and David King, NBC Tulsa.
