2 medi-flighted after crash

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at 10:34 a.m. Saturday three miles east of Watonga on Oklahoma 33 in Blaine County.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1982 Buick Skyhawk driven by Timmy Neal Jones, 46, of Kingfisher, was eastbound on Oklahoma 33 and slowed to make a u-turn at the bottom of a hill. A 2009 Chevrolet Sierra driven by Kevin Michael Compton, 37, Watonga, also eastbound, top-ped the hill following another vehicle, which swerved to miss Jones. Compton’s Sierra then struck the rear of Jones’ car, ejecting one passenger.

Timmy Jones was transported to Watonga Hospital and was treated and released, as were passengers Samual Jones, 13, of Kingfisher and Sampson Woods, 14, El Reno.

Another passenger, Sandra Jones, 49, of Kingfisher, was transported by Eagle Med to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries and was listed in stable condition.

A fourth passenger, Zach-ariah Jones, 15, of Kingfisher, was transported by Eagle Med to OU Children’s Medical Center in Oklahoma City, and admitted in stable condition with head, trunk, arm and leg injuries.

Compton refused treatment at the scene.

The accident was investigated by OHP Trooper Tanner Beckner, who listed the cause of collision the Jones vehicle stopped in the lane of traffic.
