Briefs for 7/3/09

Paul receives Educator of the Year award

Autry Technology Center employee Bea Paul has received recognition for her hard work.

Paul is Autry Tech’s job developer and she recently received Association for Career and Technical Education “Educator of the Year” award for Region IV at a conference in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The award recognizes career tech educators who are not full-time classroom/laboratory teachers, but significantly contribute to their schools and students.

Paul’s job at Autry Tech is to work with area businesses and help match Autry students with available jobs. She also helps to prepare students who are receiving training at Autry to be ready with a reume, basic interviewing skills, portfolio development and professional etiquette.

ACTE Region IV represents career tech employees from Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

Paul will represent Region IV at the national level this fall when a national educator of the year is named by ACTE.
