Residents get once-in-a-lifetime look at film star in downtown Enid

Enidites crowded on corners of the downtown square Wednesday evening trying to catch a glimpse of the famous stars in the movie, “The Killer Inside Me,” being filmed in Enid. Big name stars that are cast in the movie are Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson and Casey Affleck.

Fans have easily been able to catch glimpses of Affleck as be cruised down the street in a 1950s sheriff’s car, although, there have been no reports of sightings of Alba or Hudson.

Terri Fletchall brought her sons, Carson, 7, and Cadon, 4, to witness the filming of the movie.

“I thought it would be really neat to get to take pictures and watch the movie and say we got to see this,” said Fletchall. “It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It doesn’t happen here everyday.”

Other ‘extra’ 1950s era cars rounded the Square, some parked, others driving to fill in around Affleck’s cruising car.

Father and son Gary, of Fairmont, and Eddy Breitenkamp, of Enid, cruised through several shots in their car.

“We were just driving down here and one of them asked us if we wanted to register it and be in the movie,” said Gary. “We just came down to see this (the filming of the movie) and brought it along and one of them asked us if we wanted to drive it around. I didn’t know I was getting into all this when I came down here.”

Eddy said his father had hoped the car could be parked and get in the movie.

“He just wanted us to park it but they wanted us to drive it,” said Eddy.

The Breitenkamps were outfitted in era shirts to wear during the filming from the extras’ wardrobe.

The car was outfitted with a Texas tag to make it fit and Gary said he had to take his fuzzy dice down from around the rearview mirror.

Eddy and Gary didn’t realize they were driving right by Affleck during the shooting.

“He honked and waved at us but we didn’t wave back because we weren’t sure if we were supposed to,” said Eddy.

Wednesday’s filming was not originally scheduled but a last-minute decision was made to film again Wednes-day. Shooting began about 6:30 p.m. and continued until 6:30 this morning.
