KFC to reopen Friday following remodel

Things are brightening up for the KFC restaurant at 702 E. Maine as a remodeling project winds down.

The store has been closed about two weeks while it was remodeled and will reopen Friday in time for lunch, said manager Chad Pasby.

Both KFC stores in Enid are owned by Phil and Lisa Buller, who own a total of seven stores. Pasby said they did some “tweaking” on the store when they first purchased it two years ago. At the time, they completely remodeled the kitchen.

In addition to the building changes, there will be some changes to the menu, primarily more sandwiches and desserts, he said.

This project is part of the new KFC vision, Pasby said. It involved a total interior and exterior remodel using a new package designed by KFC.

“It’s pretty extensive, and everything is expensive these days,” he said.

The project involved a new lobby, counters, chairs and tables, booths, lighting and ceiling. The exterior is stucco and also has been painted. Pasby said the KFC restaurant at 3904 W. Garriott will begin a remodeling process in August.

“With a franchise you have to do a some things every few years. There are a few different things you can pick from. They have different plans you can use and you coordinate through the corporation to do it,” he said.

Pasby said the store does good business, especially since the Bullers took it over two years ago and it gets better every month.
