More than 20 years after the murder of a 95-year-old El Reno man, a suspect has been charged in the case.
Bobby Lee Bledsoe, 46, was charged Thursday in Canadian County District Court with first-degree murder in the May 1985 stabbing death of Clarence Evans.
Bledsoe is accused of stabbing Evans 31 times.
The case remained unsolved for 23 years, until the investigation was reopened by Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Bledsoe was arrested without incident Thursday afternoon in Oklahoma City. Online court records do not show he has retained an attorney. He was denied bond Friday.
Bledsoe has been ordered to return to court for an appearance July 2. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Au. 13.
If convicted, Bledsoe may be punished by death, life imprisonment without parole or life imprisonment.
