Traynor graduates from OU and enters OU-Tulsa physician assistant program



Megan M. Traynor, who earned a bachelor of science degree in zoology at the University of Oklahoma, has been accepted to the OU-Tulsa physician assistant program.

Her graduating class included 24 students chosen from nearly 200 applicants. She was accepted to the program based on her overall grade point average, science gpa, interview scores, healthcare experience, references, GRE score and a personal written statement.

The intensive, full-time program runs 30 months, with the first 15 devoted to instruction — including basic and clinical sciences, physical diagnosis, behavioral medicine and professional courses — and the second 15 months devoted to clinical rotations. Upon completion, Traynor will earn a master’s of health sciences degree.

She is the daughter of Tamyra Henning, Enid, and Dennis Traynor, Waukomis.

Friesen completes rotation at Bass



Phillip Friesen, a 2005 Enid High School graduate and second-year medical student at Oklahoma State University College of Medicine, recently completed a three-week rotation working with Dr. Mike Ogle in the Integris Bass Baptist Health Center’s emergency room.

Friesen also observed at Dexeus Oncology and assisted at Enid Community Clinic during his three-week rotation.

He is the son of Steve and Jeanne Friesen, of Enid.



Hume to help develop ad agency at OU



University of Oklahoma student Andrew Hume, of Enid, has been selected to help develop a public relations and advertising agency for OU’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The agency will be operated by students and will allow them to work with non-profit and small businesses.

Hume was selected through an application process.

He, along with the other students, will create a mission statement and a name and begin working with clients this summer.
