Covington Clark-Perrin American Legion Post 190 met June 11 and held an Everlasting Service in memory of Doyle Meyer, who recently died, under direction of Dick Powers, post commander. Arthur Cook placed the American Legion cap and a rifle and lit the flame. Chaplain Leon Meyer gave the prayer. Guests were Mike, Julie and Allie Stowers; Jene Hemken; Jerry and Cleo Kudlac; Alvin, Cheryl and Colby Meyer; Jim, Patty and Amber Meyer; Pauline Meyer; Gregg Meyer; Dorothy Murphy; Zoe Bolz; and Christina Rink.

Harvest is under way in the area, with James Yocham bringing in the first load of wheat to the Marshall Co-op Saturday, June 13, and Mike Kaiser and Nick Kramer bringing in the first loads of wheat Monday, June 15, to the Covington and Douglas elevators, respectively.

Covington-Douglas 4-H club member Gavyn Reim, of Marshall, participated with students from 25 states in World Pork Expo, in Des Moines, Iowa, June 3-4. Reim showed on both days, earning champion in chester barrow, reserve champion in cross barrow, third in class in landrace gilt and first in class in junior showmanship.
