Kidnapping filed in case

A 25-year-old Perkins man accused of kidnapping his estranged wife early Wednes-day is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Clinton Derek Lore was charged with a felony count of kidnapping, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

According to an affidavit, Kingfisher police responded to a report of a kidnapping after 19-year-old Cassie Lore’s mother told police her daughter had been taken against her will from her residence in Kingfisher by her husband.

Lisa Harris explained to police her daughter and Lore were going through a divorce, and her daughter had a protective order issued against him in Payne County.

Harris told police her daughter had received a text message from her husband early Wednesday morning saying he had put some of her belongings in her truck, according to the affidavit. She said her daughter went outside to check and that was the last time she had seen her. Harris said her daughter was on her cell phone with a friend when she went outside.

The friend told police Cassie Lore told him her belongings were not in the truck and asked him to stay on the phone with her while she smoked a cigarette, according to the affidavit. The friend told police Cassie Lore began screaming before the phone hung up. The friend then called Cassie Lore’s father, Bradley Harris, to tell him what had happened.

Bradley Harris said he ran out of the house and heard Cassie crying for help from inside her pickup. He ran toward the pickup as she tried to get out, according to the affidavit, but the pickup sped away, hitting him. He said the pickup turned right onto the highway and headed east at a high rate of speed.

At 1:04 a.m., another friend called Cassie Lore’s cell phone. She answered the phone and said, “Call the police.” The friend said she sounded “panicked and scared,” the affidavit states.

Police received a call at 7:05 a.m. from Clinton Lore’s mother, Earlene Lore, who said she just got off the phone with Cassie and Clinton Lore. She said Cassie Lore sounded scared and was crying. She asked if her son was going to let her go and Cassie Lore said no. She also spoke with her son and asked if he was coming home. He told her, “No, I’ve screwed up big,” according to the affidavit.

Law enforcement officials reported Wednesday Cassie Lore was found walking down a dirt road in Kingfisher County at about 8 a.m.

Clinton Lore surrendered peacefully to officers about 2 p.m. Wednesday after a search that began about when Cassie Lore was found and involved officers from Kingfisher Police Department, Kingfisher Coun-ty Sheriff’s Office and Okla-homa Highway Patrol. He surrendered in a rural area near the Cimarron River, 11 miles northeast of Kingfisher.

Cassie Lore complained of a head injury and was taken to Kingfisher Regional Hospital, where she was treated and released to family members.

Clinton already was facing a pending felony charge of domestic abuse/assault and battery by strangulation pending in Payne County. The charge was filed May 14. According to court records, he is free on $5,000 bond on the charge.

Court records in Kingfisher and Payne counties show the couple have filed for divorce. Records show Clinton Lore filed for divorce in Payne County, but Cassie Lore filed for divorce in Kingfisher County.

They were married Sept. 29, 2007, in Perkins.
