2 people injured in accidents

Two people were hospitalized Friday following accidents in northwest Oklahoma.

Doris Blue, 87, of Alva, was admitted to Share Medical Center in Alva with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. She was listed in good condition, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened at 2:55 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 64 and a county road one and one-half miles west of Alva in Woods County.

Blue was a passenger in a 2004 Buick LeSabare driven by Clara Tiberghien, 91, of Alva.

According to the report, Tiberghien was stopped on the westbound shoulder of U.S. 64 and made a U-turn in front of a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 pickup driven by Nathaniel Reutotar, 23, of Alva. Reutotar swerved right, but was unable to avoid a collision and hit Tiberghien’s vehicle in the passenger side door, according to the report.

Tiberghien and Reutotar were not injured, according to the report.

The cause of the collision was listed on the report as improper U-turn.

In the other accident, David George Weber, 59, of Woodward, was hospitalized in serious condition at University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head, leg, arm and internal injuries, according to an OHP report.

The accident happened at 3 p.m. Friday on Oklahoma 50 about three miles north of Mooreland.

He was driving a 1993 Ford L-9000 tractor-trailer south on the highway when the left front tire blew, causing his rig to veer left. It left the road and rolled one-half time, coming to rest on its top, according to the report.

He was pinned for one hour and 12 minutes before freed by Woodward Fire Department, with help from a crane operator who was passing by.

according to the report.
