Man is charged in rape of girls, 6, 10 years old

Bond was denied Friday for a 34-year-old Enid man charged with 20 felony counts of child sexual abuse.

George Wesley Johnson III is ac-cused of the rape and forcible oral sodomy of two girls, ages 10 and 6, he was ac-quainted with during a seven-month period, according to the charges filed.

Each of the fel-ony counts is punishable by 25 years to life in prison and a $500 to $5,000 fine.

According to an affidavit, Enid Police Department detectives were contacted Wednesday afternoon by Department of Human Services after a Youth and Family Services counselor reported the 10-year-old girl said her mother’s boyfriend had been molesting her and her sister.

When police spoke with the girls’ mother, she said she was just made aware of the situation when her daughter told the counselor about it, the affidavit states.

When detectives spoke with the 10-year-old girl, she said Johnson had been raping her and her sister for seven months, according to the affidavit. The girl said she could not remember an exact number of times Johnson had raped her.

Johnson was interviewed Wednesday by detectives and initially denied all allegations, according to the affidavit. Later in the interview, Johnson told detectives about times he “may have accidentally touched” the girls, according to the affidavit.

John eventually told detectives he “has a problem with alcohol and that when he drinks he does things to the girls he is ashamed of,” the affidavit states. Johnson admitted to raping the 10-year-old girl five times and the 6-year-old four or five times, according to the affidavit. Johnson said he had performed oral sex on both girls five times.

Prosecutors filed a motion to deny Johnson’s bond. A bond hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday.
