Kvasnicka, Crosswhite named ÔStudents of TodayÕ
Chisholm Elementary School students Tabor Kvasnicka and Brianna Crosswhite were named ÒStudents of TodayÓ by Enid Masonic Lodge 80.
Enid Masonic Lodge 80 supports public education with several awards including Student of Today, Teacher of Today, Oklahoma Teacher of the Year awards and State SuperintendentÕs Award for Arts Excellence.
Kvasnicka and Crosswhite received the Student of Today awards based on their scholarship, leadership and personal development.
Gottsch named as NWOSU Outstanding Senior
Heather Gottsch was one of eight Northwestern Oklahoma State University graduates honored as Outstanding Seniors at Northwestern FoundationÕs special awards presentation on April 25.
Gottsch is a graduate of Medford High School. She graduated magna cum laude in December from Northwestern with a bachelorÕs degree in elementary education.
She participated in several activities including Student Oklahoma Education Association, serving as vice president.
She is a sixth-grade teacher for Alva Public Schools, teaching science, social studies and physical education.
She is the daughter of Don and Lori Bowman, of Medford, and the granddaughter of Don and LaVon Blubaugh and Barbara Bowman, all of Medford.
To be named an Outstanding Senior, a student must show campus and community involvement, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, have completed at least 60 hours at Northwestern, show promise of future achievement and never have been subject to academic or disciplinary action. Recipients receive a plaque and a $100 savings bond.
