Kremlin-Hillsdale teachers retiring

A community retirement reception will be 2-4 p.m. May 31 for two Kremlin-Hillsdale teachers who have a combined 67 years experience.

Joyce Fales, who has 35 years teaching experience, and Linda Aebi, who has 32, will be honored during the reception at the school commons area.

Fales has taught all 35 years at Kremlin-Hillsdale.

She graduated from Enid High School in 1966 and earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education in 1970 from Northwestern Ok-lahoma State Uni-versity. She started at Kremlin-Hills-dale in 1974, teaching third grade and more recently taught upper elementary students.

She lives in Kremlin and is active in Kremlin Home Culture Club, United Meth-odist Women, Kremlin Un-ited Methodist Church and is a sponsor of Kids for Christ.

She is married to Dan Fales and has two children, Rob-by and Robin, and three granddaughters.

Aebi has taught at Kremlin-Hills-dale for 28 years, starting in 1981. Before that, she taught four years in Garber.

She has taught fourth through sixth grades at Kremlin-Hillsdale, spending 25 years teaching fourth grade. She was named Teacher of the Year in 1990 and 2007.

She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in home ec-onomics, then finished work on an elementary education degree. She earned a master’s degree in elementary education in 1979 from Phillips University.

She and her husband, Harold, had twin boys, Kevin, who lives in Jenks, and Kyle, who was killed in an accident in 2002. They also have one grandson.
