Covington-Douglas prom today

Covington-Douglas Junior-Senior Prom is today, with an after prom at the Enid YMCA.

Baccalaureate is Sunday at Covington United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

----------

Eighth-grade graduation is 8 p.m. Thursday.

----------

Last day of school at Covington-Douglas is May 22.

----------

C-D senior graduation is 2 p.m. May 23 in Memorial Gym.

----------

Covington-Douglas Alumni Banquet will be at Memorial Gym at 6:30 p.m. May 23. Doors will open at 5. A sock hop will follow, ending at midnight.

Kyle Knouse, senior, placed 5th in 110 hurdles and 5th in the 300 hurdles at the state track meet at Mustang May 9.

The C-D FFA agronomy team attended interscholastic contests in April at Tishomingo, placing 3rd; Lawton, 2nd; El Reno, 5th; Miami, Warner and Wilburton, 3rd; Tulsa, 4th; and Stillwater. They finished up the season as the 4th- place team in the state and Dakota Schoeling was the 4th highest individual at the state level.

The All-Sports Banquet was held May 11, with Robin Donaldson, Nicholas Phillips and Joseph Morrison being named outstanding athletes.

Four-year lettermen were Breanna Bergdall, track and cross country; Mallory Bolz, slow pitch softball; Robin Donaldson, slow pitch and fast pitch softball, basketball; Westin Finke, track; Jeffery Jordan, track; Kyle Knouse, basketball, track, cross country; Joseph Morrison, football, basketball, track and baseball; Earl Murphy, baseball and football; Nicholas Phillips, football and baseball; Lukis Postier, football; Kyle Rogers, baseball; Michael Vargas, baseball.

Covington-Douglas awards program was held May 12. Among awards presented were Masonic Teacher of the Year Award, Amy Hoffman, elementary; Ashley Rink, high school; Lions Club Student of the Year, Holly Hobson; Boys State representative, Jeff Carpenter; Girls State representatives, Katie Shelton and Katie Houston; Youth Leadership, Gabrielle Cushman.

Support Our School sponsored a spelling bee at C-D May 12. Winners were: pre-kindergarten, 1st Dylan Rogers, 2nd Eli Mendenhall, 3rd Ashton Cassody; kindergarten, 1st Lukas Stout, 2nd Luke Wicker, 3rd Lane Loesch; 1st grade, 1st, Devon Richards, 2nd Mason Drake, 3rd Gentry Mason; 2nd grade, 1st, Gabe Smith, 2nd Karsyn Stout, 3rd Rhett Reed; 3rd grade, 1st, Brandon Wright, 2nd Aaron Witter, 3rd Gavin Smith; 4th grade, 1st Kyle Postier, 2nd Malina Lemmons, 3rd Kyllie May; 5th Grade, 1st Evan Wilson, 2nd Victor Delagade, 3rd, Phillip Nunley; 6th grade, 1st Adam Pans, 2nd Makenzie Wicker, 3rd Ryan Finke; 7th and 8th grades, 1st Lawrence Kirk, 2nd Alexis Clark; high school, 1st Coy Stevens, 2nd Coltan Franke, 3rd Kelsea Diedrich.
