Pig In The Park slated for today

Waukomis Masonic Lodge 161 is sponsoring Pig In The Park today. The meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Drummond School Gym because of the weather. There will be auction items, bingo and food. All proceeds benefit Drummond High School Quiz Bowl’s trip to nationals this summer in Chicago.

Drummond High School academic banquet was Monday. Dinner was provided by Drummond Student Council and decorations by Drummond Quiz Bowl. Various awards were handed out during the banquet.

Oklahoma Scholars is an award given to a student who scores a 27 or higher on the ACT. Bee Kliewer and Chase Kokojan both received this award.

The 2009 valedictorians for the senior class are Haley Johnson, Bee Kliewer, Chase Kokojan and Shelby Rodenberg. Valedictorian for the eighth grade is Sarah Otto and salutatorian is Madison Perry.

Ropes are given to graduating high school seniors who maintain a 92 and above average throughout high school. Katie Birchfield, Dalton Cobb, Tim Jensen, Haley Johnson, Bee Kliewer, Chase Kokojan and Shelby Rodenberg all received ropes.

Those who made the superintendent’s honor roll are Bee Kliewer, Chase Kokojan, Tim Jensen, Shelby Rodenberg, Katie Birchfield, Haley Johnson, seniors; Darcy Tuohy and Mitchell Earl, juniors; Evan Mooney, sophomore; Baylie Goss, Jacob Singleton, Emma Wixom, Holly Woods, freshmen; Bailey Miller, Sarah Otto, Madison Perry, Jennifer Swart, Megan Terry, eighth grade; and McKenna Morrison, seventh grade.

Students who received the award of Drummond Honor Society are Haley Johnson, Bee Kliewer, Shelby Rodenberg, Mitchell Earl, Darcy Tuohy, Evan Mooney, Baylie Goss, Jacob Singleton, Emma Wixom and Holly Woods.

The students who received the award of Oklahoma High School Honor Society are Haley Johnson, Bee Kliewer, Shelby Rodenberg, Mitchell Earl, Darcy Tuohy, Evan Mooney, Baylie Goss, Jacob Singleton, Emma Wixom and Holly Woods. Those on Oklahoma Junior High Honor Society are McKenna Morrison, Sarah Otto, Madison Perry and Megan Terry.

The scholarship awards went to Chase Kokojan and Shelby Rodenberg, seniors; Mitchell Earl and Darcy Tuohy, juniors; Clint Gates and Evan Mooney, sophomores; Baylie Goss and Jacob Singleton, freshmen; Bailey Miller and Megan Terry, eighth grade; and Brittney Fansher and McKenna Morrison, seventh grade.

Citizenship awards were given to Paden Warrick and Katie Brichfield, seniors; Micthell Earl and Darcy Tuohy, juniors; Clint Gates and Jill Tomlinson, sophomores; Jacob Singleton and Holly Woods, freshmen; Clayton Mack and Brenda Reim, eighth grade; and Daniel Carel amd McKenna Morrison, seventh grade.

Accelerated Reader Awards were given to Jaycee Throckmorton and Jill Tomlinson. Throckmorton finished with a total of 273.0 points. Tomlinson finished with 248.7 points.

Special recognition was given to Clint Gates, Evan Mooney, William Morrow, William Neiswanger, Nick Mingus, Devin Miller and Mitchell Earl for competeing in Oklahoma Road Rally test as a research team, finishing as state champions.

Taylor Jankey qualified for the state track meet, which will be Saturday at Mustang High School. She will compete in the 800-meter run.
