Ringwood students to attend Boys State

John Conaway and Andrew Mueller, juniors at Ringwood High School, will attend 2008 Oklahoma American Legion Boy’s State in May at Northeast-ern Okla-homa A&M College in Miami.

Ames American Legion Post 340, is sponsoring them.

Dele-gates will learn how the Amer-ican system of government and politics works.

Conaway is the son of Scott and Tammie Conaway. Mueller is the son of Tim and Ronda Mueller.

Ringwood Students of the Month for April are Ashley Mueller and Trevor Schomber.

High School track team had many members place in the top three. For the boys, Chad Palmer placed first and John Conaway placed second in the long jump. Brad Jantz, William Navarro, Shay Unruh and John Conaway placed third in the 3,200-meter relay. William Navarro placed second in the 3,200-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run. John Con-away placed third in the 200-meter dash.

The girls team had Kendra Kunkel place first in the 100-meter hurdles and first in the 300-meter hurdles. Jessie Smith placed third in the shot put. Perla Resindez placed second in the 3,200-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run. Kelsey Richert placed third in the 400-meter run and third in the 200-meter dash.

There will be no school Friday due to a built-in snow day.

Ringwood National Honor Society induction will be 7 p.m. Monday in the high school library.

Ringwood FFA banquet will be Thursday.
