Kremlin HCE meets

By Doug Kirkpatrick, Kremlin correspondent

The Kremlin Home Culture HCE met Tuesday, April 8 at the home of Brandi Schieber. President Virginia Craig called the meeting to order, led the flag salute and club creed. Roll was answered by naming “My Favorite Flower.” The secretary’s report was accepted as amended. The treasurer’s report was presented and accepted. The devotion included a piece called “A World War II Veteran Saved by a Spider Web.”

Plans were made to assist Kremlin Hillsdale fifth grade with a science project that includes a lesson on proper manners. Plans were made to deliver trays of treats to all Kremlin businesses and to the Kremlin schools in celebration of Oklahoma. Homemakers Week, which will be celebrated May 4-10. In other plans, it was voted to plant a memorial tree in the Kremlin City Park in honor of Teresa Wuerflein, recently deceased and a former member of Kremlin Home Culture HCE.

The group voted to help with expenses for the Kremlin Hillsdale girls to attend Girls State.

Sharon Riddle presented a hands-on lesson for planting spring flowers from cuttings titled “Friendship Foliage.” The mystery package was guessed by Cassis Mitchell. The penny package went to Melody Hays. Others attending were: Joyce Fales, Jenny Meyer, Melanie Gray, Nancy Ingraham, Stefanie Franklin, Beverly Buller, Ida Wuerflein and Avis Forbes.
