An escapee from William S. Key Correctional Center in Fort Supply was caught Thursday about two hours after he was discovered missing.
Austin C. Burks, 20, was confirmed missing at 4:46 p.m. after a person called the prison and said they thought they saw an inmate on their property, according to Linda Eike, warden’s assistant. After a lockdown of the prison and an inmate count, Burks’ escape was confirmed.
He was caught about 6:43 p.m. by a deputy with Harper County Sheriff’s Office.
Burks was convicted in Pottawatomie County on a variety of charges, including possession of a controlled substance, second-degree burglary and grand larceny.
