Lamont to hold town-wide garage sale

— Lamont town-wide garage sale will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 16. There will be no fees or no maps. Individual must put their own signs up. Contact Lucille Stowers for more information.

Deer Creek-Lamont junior high participated in a track meet March 30 in Covington-Douglas. Results are:
Girls team scores: 100 – Katherine Muegge, third; 200 – Marian Muegge, second; 400 – Marian Muegge, second; 1600 – Ariel Warrior, sixth; 1600 relay – fifth place, which consisted of Bennett Shipley, Katherine Muegge, Marian Muegge and Ariel Warrior; long jump – Marian Muegge, first; high jump – Bennett Shipley, fifth; shot put – Katy Starr, second, and Haley Stacy, fifth; discus – Karen Golay, fifth.
Boys team scores: 800 – Lawson Thompson, third; 300IH – Jace Whitehead, first; 1600 relay – third place, which consisted of Lawson Thompson, Jace Whitehead, Christian Looper and Lane Williams; long jump – Lawson Thompson, first; pole vault – Christian Looper, third.

Deer Creek-Lamont high school participated in a track meet Thursday in Medford. Results are:
Girls team scores: 200 – Janise Blanton, first and Jill Hobbs, second; 400 – Janise Blanton, first, Lindsey Campbell, fourth, and Rachel Kirby, sixth; 800 – Lindsey Campbell, second, and Rachel Kirby, third; 1600 relay second, consisting of Janise Blanton, Jill Hobbs, Rachel Kirby and Lindsey Campbell; long jump – Jill Hobbs, first; high jump – Lindsey Campbell, fourth, and Rachel Kirby, sixth.

Deer Creek-Lamont School will host its first annual elementary track meet April 22 for the fifth and sixth grades. The field events will start at 10:30 a.m. and the running will start at noon.

The elementary quiz bowl took place March 30. Deer Creek-Lamont took first place and Drummond took second place.

The Blackwell pre-season baseball tournament will begin Monday. Several Deer Creek-Lamont students are playing.

National Honor Society play “Life of the Party” has been moved to 6 p.m. April 26.
