A large wildfire was burn-ing west of Cleo Springs Saturday afternoon, causing homes to be evacuated.
Garfield County Emer-gency Management Director Mike Honigsberg said he was unsure if any homes had been damaged by the fire.
“We are just trying to put out the fire as best we can. The wind is making it hard. We are working hard to get it done. It keeps flaring up in places,” said Honigsberg.
Fire departments from Drummond, Lahoma, Breck-inridge, Hillsdale, Kremlin, Waukomis, Vance Air Force Base, Cleo Springs, Da-coma, Nescatunga and Ma-jor and Garfield county emergency management were on the scene.
“We are all working together to get it done,” said Honigsberg.
