UPDATE: Truck driver injured in accident

A Texas man was hospitalized in critical condition Friday after his tractor-trailer wrecked west of Enid.

Israel Salinas, 42, of Grand Prairie, Texas, was pinned in the cab of his truck for one hour and 14 minutes, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. He was taken to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center with a head injury, according to the OHP.

The accident happened at 10 a.m. on U.S. 412 one-half mile west of 150th.

According to the report, the 2002 Kenworth semi and tank trailer Salinas was driving east on U.S. 412 went off the road on the right for 500 feet then rolled one-half time, coming to rest on its top.

The road was slushy at the time of the accident and it was sleeting, according to the report, which listed the cause as driving too fast for conditions.

Salinas was wearing a seat belt.

Troopers worked 10 weather-related traffic collisions in northwest Oklahoma, three involving injuries, state Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Michelann Ooten said.
