Members of Deer Creek-Lamont Business Profession-als of America (BPA) celebrated Read Across America with Deer Creek-Lamont primary grades March 3.
The week-long program emphasizes reading and is sponsored annually by NEA during the week of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
With the assistance of librarian Evalynn Hobbs, BPA members chose books to read to students in the early childhood class through second grade. Students were treated to giant cookies and punch following reading time. Twenty books were shared with the classes as BPA members paired up with individual students or groups of students to share their books.
BPA members participating in the project were Janise Blanton, Kassy Chartier, Arian Hutton, Camille Krehbiel, Kyleen Stocking, Jake Stockwell, Mindy Blaser, Jill Hobbs, Halli Hodges, Sarah Coufal, Chad Mendenhall, Laura Reynolds, Derric Richards, Jordan Bellin, Samantha Golay, Morgan Hamm, Courtney Kirby, Levi Reese, Spencer Reese, Maggie Schneeberger, Kayl Tingley, Andrew Coufal and Landon Tingley.
