After prom committee to hold basketball game Monday at 7

The after prom committee will hold a Donkey Basketball game at 7 p.m. March 23 in the Lamont High School Gym with Deer Creek-Lamont vs. Medford and Deer Creek-Lamont vs. Pond Creek. Advance tickets are $6 and $8 at the gate. Contact Janise Blanton at (405) 880-1207.

The local livestock show held Feb. 22, in Lamont was good. The Booster Club sponsored a dinner that raised more than $500 and the Labor Auction that auctioned off all 39 FFA students, as well as the ag teacher Ty LaRue. The total money brought in off of the Labor Auction was $5,305.

The following students were champions:

Sheep: Lane Williams got the Champion Lamb.

Cattle: Justin Kirby got the Reserve Supreme Heifer and Kolby Tebow got Supreme Heifer.

Goats: Monica Dirham got Supreme Doe and Gavin Dirham got Reserve Supreme Doe, Gavin Dirham got Champion Whether and Monica Dirham got the Reserve Champion Whether.

Swine: Lindsey Campbell got Grand Champion and Kolton Schuelein got Reserve Grand Champion.

Showmanship:

Sheep: Junior Division (Lane Williams)

Cattle: Junior Division (Breagan Tebow) & Senior Division (Kolby Tebow)

Goats: Cloverbud (Monica Dirham) Junior Division (Madison Hembree) Senior Division (Resa Navarro)

Swine: Cloverbud (Fisher Muegge) Junior Division (Harrison Muegge) Senior Division (Connor Kirby)

The Elementary Book Fair continues through Friday.

There will be no after school programs this week.

The 3rd and 4th grades will hold a tournament at Deer Creek all this week.

Parent-teacher conferences for the high school will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. The parent-teacher conferences for the elementary will be on Friday.

There will be no school on Friday, due to parent-teacher conferences.

Spring Break will be March 16-20.

On March 24, the elementary will be having their Prevent Blindness Vision Screening.

The Grant County Conservation Fair will be 6 p.m. March 24 at the Medford Civic Center.

On March 27, the spring casual group pictures will be at the elementary and high school.

High school track will travel to Covington March 28 for a track meet at 9:30 a.m. and the junior high will travel to Covington March 30 for a 9:30 a.m. track meet.

Church

The Lamont United Methodist Church will host a Girls Night Out at 6 p.m. March Sunday. All women are welcome. The guest speaker will be Pat Hoerth from Turtle Rock Farm.
