Enid police, OBN agent arrest 3 after finding an active meth lab

By Cass Rains Staff Writer

Enid police and an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agent arrested three people Tuesday after discovering an active methamphetamine lab.

Members of Enid Police Department’s Narcotic’s, K-9 Interdiction and Investigative Services units, along with the SWAT team and an OBN agent, were preparing to serve a search warrant about noon at 1555 Meadowbrook when they saw a man leave the residence with a duffel bag, said Sgt. Rick Tanner.

An EPD K-9 officer and the OBN agent stopped the pickup in the 300 block of West Cherry. Officers arrested Jon Morrison, 38, after discovering an active meth lab in the bed of the pickup, Tanner said.

Officers found a two-layered separated liquid and a bag containing pseudoephedrine and filtering equipment inside a duffel bag, Tanner said.

Morrison was arrested on complaints of manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a precursor substance with the intent to manufacture.

During Morrison’s traffic stop, officers saw a blue Dodge Intrepid pull into the driveway of 1555 Meadowbrook and the driver enter the house and return to his vehicle within minutes, Tanner said.

Detectives recognized the driver as Corey Nelson, 32, and stopped him in the 500 block of West Cherry because he was driving while under revocation, Tanner said. Inside Nelson’s vehicle, officers found two firearms, a rifle with the stock sawed off and a semi-automatic .25-caliber handgun, Tanner said.

Police also found marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and components often used in the clandestine manufacturing of methamphetamine, Tanner said.

Nelson was arrested on complaints manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession a firearm after felony conviction and driving with a suspended license.

Nelson’s passenger, Miranda Gilliland, 26, was arrested on complaints of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Enid SWAT team members served the search warrant at the Meadowbrook residence during the investigations of Morrison and Nelson, Tanner said.

Detectives and members of the Narcotics Unit searched the residence and found marijuana and methamphetamine, Tanner said.

Angie Wolf, 38, the resident of 1555 Meadowbrook, was arrested on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, maintaining a house where drugs are kept or sold, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tanner said about 31 grams of pseudoephedrine was seized Tuesday. He said that much pseudoephedrine could yield about three ounces of methamphetamine.
