Students invited to tour Waller

Fifth- and sixth-grade students are invited to pre-enrollment sessions and tours this week at Waller Junior High School.

Activities for fifth-grade students and their parents will be 6:30-7:30 tonight, while sixth-grade students and their parents are invited 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.

“We are excited to welcome parents and students,” Principal John Garvie said. “We hope this event will help your child a smoother transition from elementary to middle school. It will give them an opportunity to see the many choices that Waller has to offer.”

Members of the Waller staff will provide pre-enrollment packets to students the night of each event. Parents will receive information about how to help their children enroll online, and assistance will be provided to those who would like to learn more about the Parent Portal, which allows parents to check grades and attendance records online. In addition, National Junior Honor Society and Student Council members will provide tours of the school, and students in the music department will perform.

A brisket dinner will be provided to those in attendance 6-6:30 p.m. each night. Donations for the dinner will be accepted, and proceeds will be used to purchase technology and supplies for the school.
