Okeene High School football coach Jeff Wardlaw was named Football Coach of the Year at the Jim Thorpe Awards banquet recently in Oklahoma City. He also serves as elementary school principal.

Okeene Elementary School’s Risk Watch for kindergarten through fourth grade will be Monday.

Seventh- and eighth-grade academic team will be at the regional tournament at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Canton.

Okeene 11th-graders will take tests 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Regional science fair will be Wednesday at Alva.

High school faculty will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday.

Elementary school faculty will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday.

Okeene 11th-graders will take the ASVAB Test 8:35- 11:45 a.m. Friday.

January Whippets of the Month are senior Ashley Rover, junior Matthew Benham, freshman Karlee Brownlee and freshman Ryan Osmus.
