A Lahoma man is in good condition at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after being injured in a traffic accident Thursday.

Wray Laverne Miller, 73, suffered head injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened at 6:46 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 412 and Oklahoma 132 South.

According to the report, Miller was driving a 1995 GMC pickup when he failed to yield from the crossover and hit a 2001 Ford driven by Carolyn Jo Medley, 54, of Lahoma. Medley was driving west on U.S. 412.

Medley was taken by Life EMS to St. Mary’s and was treated for contusions and released. She was pinned in her car for 15 minutes.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Enns, Hime to serve on council

State Rep. John Enns and Enid Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Hime will serve on an advisory council studying accessibility of electronic and information technology for the disabled.

Enns, R-Enid, was re-appointed and will serve as co-chairman of Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Advisory Council. Hime was appointed to take the place of Sherry Prentice, a member who resigned from the council.

“Ensuring that state government information is available to the disabled is the target of this advisory council,” Enns said. “It is very important that all Oklahomans are able to use and access information regardless of whether or not they have a disability.”

The advisory council will make recommendations regarding the accessibility of the information and provide advice and assistance to the Information Services Division of the Office of State Finance on the development of accessibility standards and complaint procedures.

“It will also give me another chance to keep up with Superintendent Shawn Hime on the district’s education needs,” Enns said.

State Rep. Mike Jackson said he was glad to see one of his constituents join the advisory council.

“Shawn Hime is a very dedicated administrator to his district and I am confident that he will be just as dedicated in his contributions to this advisory board,” Jackson, R-Enid, said. “I am also pleased to see that Enid is so well-represented on the board.”
