School

Amy Campbell’s third-grade class at Hillsdale Christian School presented a chapel program Wednesday.

The program began with pledges led by Dylan White, Collin Gibson and Brandon Krausse. Spencer Greene opened with prayer.

Students performed the People of Patience Award show. Hosts were Reagan Hayes, Jacob Bookout, Hayden Bonine and Spencer Greene. Lakan Light handed out trophies. Neil Wichert held up the “applause” sign at each appropriate time.

The presenter of the first People of Patience Award was Kade Van Meter, posing as Old Testament man Joseph. Nominees were Hayley Davi-son, Olivia Holder and Emilee Marlatt. A video of each was shown using pa-tience. Marlatt was the winner.

The musical group “Groovy Fruits” (Jonathan Messenger, Ben Long, Tristan Ester and Brandon Krausse) pantomimed playing two songs about joy and love as the rest of the class sang the songs. The audience was invited to sing along.

The second People of Patience Award was presented by another Old Testament man, Job, played by Jonny Volpe. Nominees for this award were Collin Gibson, Dylan White and Riley Nesmith. A video of each of these nominees exhibiting patience was shown. The winner was White.

Patty Means’ kindergarten class from Hillsdale Christian School traveled to Cherokee on Wed-nesday to visit Cherokee Manor. The 14 students sang songs for the residents and gave each of them a snowman they had made. The paper snowmen had a banner attached that read “Jesus Loves You ‘Snow’ Much.” The students then visited the police station and learned about the 911 system.

------------------------------

Hillsdale Christian School students in Ann Porterfield’s physical education classes participated in the Jump Rope for Heart fund-raiser Friday. Ninety students jumped rope and earned money that will be donated to the American Heart Association.
