An Omega man was pinned in his vehicle for 30 minutes Saturday afternoon following a two vehicle collision 10 miles west of Kingfisher on Oklahoma 33 in Kingfisher County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Terry G. Marks, 52, of Omega, was westbound on Oklahoma 33 at 3:45 p.m. when he was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by Carl Wayne Humphries, 63, of Piedmont.
OHP said Humphries was northbound on Calumet blacktop and failed to stop at a stop sign. The Marks vehicle was struck on the driver’s side door and both vehicles came to rest in a ditch.
Marks was pinned in his vehicle before being freed by Kingfisher Fire Department. He was transported by Kingfisher EMS to Kingfisher Regional Hospital, where he was being held for observation of head, internal trunk and external injuries.
Humphries was not injured in the accident.
OHP stated the cause of the collision was Humphries’ failure to yield from a stop sign.
The accident was investigated by OHP Trooper Mark Williams of the Kingfisher County detachment, assisted by troopers Tanner Beckner and Lawrance Kimble and Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.
