Salt Plains Wildlife Re-fuge will host its annual Eagle Watch beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.
Eagle Watch has been a successful refuge activity for the past six years, said Jon Brock, refuge manager. He said he expects a good turnout this year as well.
Four Eagle Watch sessions will be held this year. The first two are Friday and Saturday, and the final two are Jan. 16 and 17.
Each watch will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 6.
“What we do is we kind of give people a little background on bald eagles and golden eagles,” Brock said. “Then we travel down to where the eagles roost.”
Brock said the group is usually 50 yards to 100 yards away from the eagles and have a good view of the birds.
