A Drummond woman pleaded guilty Monday to embezzling up to $70,000 from the Tinker Federal Credit Union branch at Vance Air Force Base.
Donna Kay Gainer, 60, is accused of taking the money last summer. She made the plea in federal court in Oklahoma City, according to John C. Richter, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.
Gainer was an employee of the credit union at the time, and, according to her plea agreement with federal prosecutors, the amount of loss attributable to her conduct was between $30,000 and $70,000. Gainer admitted to taking more than $1,000.
She faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine, plus mandatory restitution. A sentencing hearing will be set by the court in approximately 90 days.
The case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
