Does Enid really need more hotels or restaurants? Ok, maybe a nice medium priced restaurant (not another Chinese buffet). Are the existing hotels and motels used to capacity? It seems to me Enid has champagne taste but can’t even afford beer.
Many years ago there was a thriving downtown. It was a pleasant place to shop. Then someone had a bright idea, or so they thought, and along came the mall. Now, neither downtown nor the mall has any great shopping. This always has seemed like a divide and conquer maneuver to the eventual benefit of Wal-Mart (ultimately China?)!
If you don’t care about trying to return Enid to her former glory, just keep supporting the “progress” our esteemed city leaders want to promote.
I certainly don’t know the answers to Enid’s problems, but I don’t think it is in adding more floors to a building whose foundation is in dire need of repair!
