DAVE WRIGHT

The funeral for Dave Wright, 58, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ames Christian Church. The Rev. Dan O’Daniel will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc., Fairview.

He was born Jan. 18, 1949, in Emporia, Kan., to Dale E. and Jean Tyson Wright and died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at his home near Ringwood.

Dave grew up in Emporia, Kan., and graduated from Emporia High School in 1967. Following high school he started working with cattle in feedlots, preconditioning lots and ranches and all aspects of the livestock industry. He also worked at Buster Wheat Cattle Ranch in Allen, Kan., among other places. He moved to Memphis, Texas, where he worked for Bradley III Ranch, and to Garden City, Kan., where he worked for Lobo Feedlot. He started his own preconditioning lot and later sold it and went to work for Lee Issaac in Hugoton, Kan. He relocated to Ames and Ringwood areas, where he worked with Charlie and Jim Edwards for about 10 years before retiring. He attended Ames Christian Church and Cowboy Church.

Surviving are his mother, Jean Wright of Emporia; two sons, Wade Wright of Ringwood and Justin Wright of Fairview; one brother, Lee Wright of Dallas; two sisters, Ann Wright of Emporia and Jan Smith of Mauldin, S.C.; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father.

OLIVE ESTLIE GELLERMAN

A graveside service for Olive Estlie Gellerman, 93, of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Union Cemetery, Billings. Pastor David Frees will officiate. Arrangements are by Dugger Funeral Home, Billings. Family visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Deer Creek to Albert Harvey and Myrtle Mae Bruce and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in Colorado Springs.

She married Elmer H. Gellerman July 19, 1929, in Enid. She was a retired nurse and had lived in Colorado Springs for the past 15 years. She previously lived in Billings, Enid, Ponca City and Blackwell.

Surviving are one son, Gary Gellerman, of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Chester Bruce and Lester Bruce, both of Iowa, and L.V. Bruce of Skiatook; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, one sister and four brothers.

HALLE LYNETTE CLAYTON

The funeral for Halle Lynette Clayton, infant, will be 10 a.m. today at Christ Lutheran Church, Perry. The Rev. William Metz will officiate. Burial will be in Richburg Cemetery, southeast of Perry. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.

She was born and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, Okla-homa City, to Kelly Ray and Denise Lynette Feken Clayton of Perry.

Surviving are her parents, Kelly and Denise Clayton; grandparents, Janan Feken of Stillwater, Dennis and Trina Feken of Mulhall, Dora Clayton of Cushing and Doug and Shirley Clayton of Agra; and great-grandparents, Juanita and Roger Vick and Doris Feken, all of Perry.

WAYNE ‘BUS’ HEWITT

The funeral for Wayne “Bus” Hewitt, 84, of Canton, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Canton. Pastor Harold Hook will officiate. Burial will be in Canton Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Haigler-Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

He was born July 4, 1923, in Oakwood to Leo and Ruth Malatka Hewitt and died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at his home.

He was raised in Oakwood and graduated from Oakwood High School in 1940.

He married Jean Barney Oct. 9, 1943, in Okla-homa City. They made their home west of Canton, where they farmed and raised cattle.

Surviving are his wife, Jean, of the home; one daughter, Jana Smith of Weatherford; two brothers, Joe Hewitt of Canton and Forrest Hewitt of Oakwood; two sisters, Pauline Holland of Oakwood and Mary June Brown of Burneyville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son and two brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Canton Cemetery Association.

IDA LEE MCNEAL

The funeral for Ida Lee McNeal will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stanley Jenkins and Rev. Steve McClaren will officiate. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery, Lucien, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Ida was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Oilton, OK to William P. and Grace (Carey) O’Banion and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in Enid, OK.

She attended Enid schools.

On March 27, 1948, she married Ellsworth L. McNeal in Enid. He preceded her in death in February 2001.

She worked at Martha Ann Bakery during World War II. Then she was a loving mother and homemaker. She belonged to the Ladies Home Extension Club and did a lot of canning. She won several blue ribbons at the County Fair for her canning. She was a member of Grace Bible Church. She loved her faithful companion, Queenie.

Ida is survived by two sons, Ellsworth (Buddy) McNeal Jr. and wife Charlette of Fairmont and Bobby L. McNeal of Enid; one grandson, Michael McNeal; three brothers, Robert O’Banion and wife Shelia of New York, Floyd O’Banion and wife Hazel of Enid, and Bruce O’Banion of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth; one sister, Opal Groom; and one brother, Frank O’Banion.

Memorials may be made to donor’s choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.

GENEVA JEAN ‘JEANNE’ SHEBESTER

The service for Geneva Jean “Jeanne” Shebester will be 10 a.m. today, Oct. 10, 2007, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Rev. Lesly Broadbent will officiate. Burial will be 4 p.m. in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Jeanne was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Wynnewood, OK to Wallace and Virginia Snedden and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center of Enid after a long fight with cancer.

She graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1966.

She married Melvin Shebester June 25, 1966, in Pauls Valley.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin, of the home; son, Jason Shebester, daughter-in-law Laynie Shebester; grandson, Evan Shebester; granddaughter, Karlie Shebester of Shawnee, OK; niece, Debbie Johnson; and great-niece, Mandy Johnson of Sumter, S.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Luretha Badon.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.

AUDRA ILETA GAMSTER

A memorial service for Audra Ileta Gamster, 98-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Wiggs and Rev. Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jay (Audra) Gamster was born July 25, 1909, in Eastland, Eastland County, Texas, the daughter of William and Beulah Shugart Lane.

She graduated from high school in Desdemona, TX. Following her schooling she worked in Desdemona and Wewoka, OK.

She married Elmer Jay Gamster July 25, 1937, in Chicago, IL. In 1951, the couple moved to Wheaton, IL. Mrs. Gamster was employed by the Jewell Tea Co. She later moved to Westport, OK on Lake Keystone in 1973 and to Enid in October 1990. For the last five years, she was a resident of the Methodist Home in Enid.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She received her 50-year PEO Award while a member of Chapter FS in Enid. She will be remembered by her family as a loving, caring mother and grandmother who made the world’s best oatmeal-butterscotch cookies. Her hospitality and generosity will never be forgotten.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William E. (Jana L.) Shewey of Enid; two sons, Lewis J. Gamster of Broken Arrow, OK, and Jerry Lane Gamster of Tulsa, OK; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Hayes of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jay, eight brothers and sisters, and one grandson, Jeff Shewey.

TINA A. WOOD

A graveside memorial service for Tina A. Wood, 85-year-old Enid resident, will be 1 p.m. today, Oct. 10, 2007, in Memorial Park Cemetery with Chap-lain Sam Justice officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Dis-abled Am-erican Veterans. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Tina was born April 10, 1922, in Vandergrift, PA to John and Sylvia Pulos and died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in Enid.

She grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from high school in 1941. She studied art at the Art School in Pittsburgh, PA. Tina enlisted in the Ladies Marine Corps Nov. 28, 1944, and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C. She was honorably discharged Jan. 16, 1946.

Tina was married to Charles Duane Swank on Dec. 25, 1945. After her discharge they made their home in Enid. Charles died in 1969. From 1955 to 1961, Tina was display manager for Lerner Shops. She married Juel Le Roy Hays Jr. in 1973. He preceded her in death. Tina later married Donald Wood.

She was a life member of Alpha Tri Child Study Club and held every office therein, including president from 1957-1958. Tina was a longtime member of the American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose Auxiliary Chapter 1587 of Enid, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 2270. In the VFW Auxiliary she held many offices including president from 1974-1975, 1980-1981, District 11 president from 1977-1978, and was voted district president for 1978, deputy chief for District 11 from 1976-1977, state historian, 1978, state page, 1977. Tina received life membership from Post 2270 Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the American Business Women’s Association. Tina worked for several years at the Enid State School as a resident life staff aide. She was a member of Davis Park Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking and free-lance drawing. Tina was very active in the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2004, and her son, Ernest Swank.

She is survived by her son and his wife John and Karen Swank of Enid; two stepchildren and their spouses, John and Debra Wood of Hennessey and JoAnn and Gearld Cottom of Ames; four granddaughters, Jennie Swank and Megan Swank, both of Enid, Amanda Reeves of Oklahoma City, and Jennifer Cox of Bethany.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Marine Corps League Toys for Tots.
