Mary Margaret Gatz

— Funeral for Mary Margaret Gatz, 93, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, Alva. The Rev. William S. Kalfas will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery.
She was born sept. 26, 1914 on a farm southwest of Capron to Phillip Wendlin and Anna Eva Bauler Eggestein and died Monday, July 28, 2008 in Oklahoma City.
She attended Bellview District 21 country school and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Capron, graduating in 1928.
She married LeRoy Gatz Aug. 10, 1935. They built a home in Alva, where she lived until poor health became an issue in 2006. In 1978 they both retired from farming and ranching. He died Oct. 4, 1985.
Surviving are her children, Don Turlock of California, Alfreda Wirtz of Oklahoma City, and Fred Gatz of Yukon; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, LeRoy, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the charity of donor’s choice.
