OnviSource puts it all together

By Cass Rains

The offices of the OnviSource building are abuzz with activity.

The phones are constantly ringing, which isn’t a surprise for a company whose aim is “to be the Microsoft Office for call centers.”

“That’s kind of our motto around here,” said Jon McNaught. “It used to be you had to buy all of these programs separately, until Microsoft put them all together.”

McNaught, corporate general counsel for OnviSource, explained how he wants a similar revolution and results for his company’s software, products and services as the Office did for Microsoft.

OnviSource acquired four product and outsourcing companies in 2005 with more than 20 years of combined experience serving the call center and telecom industry.

The companies each specialized in specific areas, including quality-compliance management and call recording, in-bound and out-bound call management and handling, outsourcing services in sales, marketing, customer support and business operations, and hosting applications and telecom services.

All of these services, once only offered separately by various companies, all can be found from OnviSource, McNaught said.

“We’ve taken all those products and put them into one package,” McNaught said.

The four companies acquired by OnviSource — Davacord Inc., CadCom Telesystems, Inc., Business Solutions, Inc. and Axius Portal — were collapsed into OnviSource.

As of Jan. 1, OnviSource was the official name soon to be associated with a technology boom in Enid, McNaught said.

Saying they’ve begun to integrate the products from Davacord Inc. and CadCom Inc., McNaught said the company is planning to release its newest version of telephony software late in the third quarter of this year.

“It will all be integrated, from A to Z,” McNaught said of the tools included in the software, allowing all the programs to communicate with each other, “at about 60 percent of the price.”

OnviSource is a Delaware company with its headquarters in Plano, Texas.

The company employs more than 140, but about 110 of those employees work at the Enid office, McNaught said.

“The majority of the operation is in Enid,” McNaught said. “We’re the meat and potatoes of the operation.”

McNaught said the company employs software and product engineers, computer programmers, something you wouldn’t expect a facility on the prairie to be search for, but McNaught tells of another phrase that circulates the OnviSource operations center.

“We like to say we’re ‘on the silicon prairie,’” he said with a smile.

“There is every intention to make Enid a technology place,” McNaught said with more seriousness. “Products are developed, manufactured and shipped out of Enid.”

Aimed at small- to medium-sized markets, OnviSource offers call centers technology that can improve quality assurance, records in-and-out bound calls, and can save, organize and e-mail calls that have been recorded.

McNaught said OnviSource software and technologies will be used in the Garfield County 911 Center, and are already in place at the Enid Police Department.

OnviSource can also outsource call centers for companies and provide the hardware for call centers, also offered on a monthly basis.

“It’s all done right here in Enid,” he said. “This is homegrown Enid stuff.”
