Enid Symphony Orchestra to hold child-friendly concerts

ENID, Okla. — Holiday Pops

The ESO Holiday Pops package will feature a November presentation of the classic musical “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin and a February appearance by the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Individual tickets for the Holiday Pops presentations are $30.

“White Christmas” will run Nov. 23-25. Among the cast are Paul Stuart, winner of the 2009 Irene Ryan Award, in the role of Bob Wallace, and Wichita native John Keckeisen, in the role of Phil Davis. The Haynes sisters, Betty and Judy, will be portrayed by Enid natives Lindsey Newell and Louisa Dienst. All four live in Los Angeles, where they are pursuing careers in film and stage.

Michael Jones, Lyric Theatre veteran actor and OKC City Repertory Theatre artistic associate director, will portray General Henry Waverly.

Kimberly Weast, associate professor of theatre at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, will portray Martha Watson. Mary Black, a Los Angeles-based actress, will play Susan Waverly, the general’s daughter.

Black also will be the director.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra, directed by Nick Hilsher, will perform Feb. 15 and 16.
