God loves everyone, that’s no small thing

A few weeks ago, while visiting a friend, I had the privilege of attending church with her. The preacher gave a powerful message about how big God is.

When it was over, I thought my head was going to explode. Trying to wrap your mind around just how big God is can do that to you.

In fact, God is so big He does not experience time as we do. He lives in the past, present and future all at the same time. There is no beginning and no end to Him.

Only He knows what is going to happen and what could have happened in your life.

With one breath, He spoke the world into existence.

So, who are we that He should be mindful of us? We are so small and insignificant compared to the majesty that He encompasses.

Yet, He created us in His own image and calls us His sons and daughters. How incredible! The God of the universe, the Creator of the world, cares about you and wants to know you personally.

His thoughts about you outnumber the stars and He knows the exact number of hairs on your head. There is nothing you are going through He does not see. There is no problem too small or too big He cannot solve.

Whatever is weighing on you today, bring it before the Lord. He promises to help you through it all.

This article may seem a little strange coming from me, who is convinced my life is over, at least once a week, resulting in a total meltdown.

But sometimes we all need to be reminded how big God is. He is bigger than depression, or loneliness, or any circumstance we find ourselves in.

God lives in places no one wants to be. You can find Him in a back alley where they sell Xanax like candy, in a cardboard box in an abandoned building, and in every dark corner of the earth. He lives in the darkest places and loves the most unlovable people, in the most unlikely way.

And, that’s no small thing.
