Reunions for 10/13/09

Lamont

Lamont alumni reunion will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 28 at Lamont High School old gym. 

The reunion is for all graduates, and classes ending in 9 and 0 will be honored this year.

Featured speaker for the program will be Jake McNiece, famed World War II  hero and 101st Airborne Division paratrooper. He was an original member and leader of the “Filthy Thirteen,” a group whose daring raids inspired the movie “The Dirty Dozen.” Copies of his book “The Filthy Thirteen” will be available.

 A pre-banquet coffee and social will be held 2-4 p.m. at Lamont Christian Church fellowship hall. The theme for this year’s banquet is “We Salute our War Heroes.” 

The program and master of ceremonies will be handled by Doris and Robert G. Nesselrode with entertainment by Robert L. Nessel-rode, Karl L. Nesselrode and Sally Nesselrode Berger.

 Alumni wishing to make reservations for the banquet are requested to send in their reservations, along with payment of $12 per person to State Exchange Bank, Box 7, Lamont, OK 74643, attn:  Micki Metcalf. List the year of graduation or attendance. Reservations must be made and paid for in advance. Deadline for reservations is Nov. 23. 



EHS class of 1960

Chapman-Dunn

Sixty descendants and seven guests attended the annual Chapman-Dunn family reunion and lunch held Sept. 26, hosted by Bob and Pam Worth of Nash, in the fellowship hall at First Christian Church of Nash.

Door prizes were given throughout the day and awards were presented to Elmo Chapman, Enid, for being the oldest male descendent present; Clara Thornburgh, Ponca City, for being the oldest female descendent present; Cole Page, Waukomis, for being the youngest descendent present; Mickey Denson, Carlisle, Ark., for traveling the farthest; and Rick Milam for having the most children present.

Game winners were Jacob Gritz, Enid; Kimberley Wright, Enid; and Paul Worth, Nash.
