Annual meeting set

The annual board meeting for the Rose Hill Cemetery Association in Carrier is 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Judy DeVaughn, 2802 Whippoorwill.
Anyone who owns a burial space is welcome to attend. Board members include: Kim Ford, Jay Young, Dennis Young, Velda Rivenburg, DeVaughn and Cody Watkins.



Lamont hosts sale

The town of Lamont will host a townwide garage sale 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17.



Quilters to meet

Pioneer Area Quilters’ Guild will begin its new quilting year with a salad luncheon 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Hartford and Pecan, Ponca City.
Hostesses are Oletta Demaree, Betty Schwanke, Jacque Wagner, Cindy Wilson and Mary Lou Winter. Members should bring a food dish to serve 12 and include their name and recipe with the dish.
Door prizes include spring-colored napkin set made by members. Program is show and share quilts. Guests are welcome.
The business meeting is 12:30 p.m. and will be led by the new officers that were elected and installed in April. Officers are Jane Thomason, president; Sharon Seitz, vice president; Roberta Lee, secretary; and Louise Skinner, treasurer. There will be drawing from among participants in the Irish Chain Block Party. Those who have made the block may enter their block prior to the meeting.
Linda Everhart, an international teacher and lecturer, entertained members and guests at the April meeting of PAQG with her many colorful quilts. Her quilts demonstrated reverse appliqué made simple by using her technique, FUSIQUE.
