Fling at the Springs

Eight bands will perform at this year’s Fling at the Springs, an annual music event that highlights talent from around the region.
The schedule for this year is:
• 3-3:45 p.m.: Those Guyz with CiCi and Curt Daugherty
• 3:45-4:45 p.m.: Americana Deluxe, a local group
• 4:45 p.m.: Scott Carson, a man who has played at various venues around Enid and lives in Stillwater
• 5:30 p.m.: The Imposters
• 6:30 p.m.: Jacob Tovar and Friends
• 7:30 p.m.: Love’s It!
• 8:30 p.m.: Harwood, Roberts and Thompson, a local group
• 9:30 p.m.: Suede Panther, a contemporary rock ‘n’ roll group from Stillwater
Vendors will serve food and beverages at the park; ice chests are allowed.
This Week Sept. 27-Oct. 3

Coming Feature ... Oktoberfest
Brats, beer and family activities all will be available Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, as the city of Enid celebrates Oktoberfest.
Brats and beer will be available for adults, while families will be able to enjoy face painting, pumpkin painting and a baking contest.
Oktoberfest essentially is October First Friday, so as usual, downtown businesses will be open late and have special events and sales.
A snapshot of next Friday’s activities include: bierocks at Angel Delight, live music in the Breezeway and sales at Grand Avenue Lighting.

In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved to Q-Spot in downtown Enid.
Western Enterprises is scheduled to perform a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
There is no admission fee.
Next Week Oct. 4-10
American Garfieldi Car and Motorcycle Show, 6-9 p.m., Broadway Avenue downtown. Cost is $25 per entry. Prizes will be awarded, and entertainment will be provided. For more information, call (580) 237-3630.

Super Retriever Series, all weekend long, Hillsdale and Oakwood Mall in Enid. The field trials will once again be held in Hillsdale, while the Eukanuba Super Dock will be will be set up at the mall. For more information, call (580) 233-3643.

Sooner State Kennel Club Dog Show, 10 a.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Sunday, Chisholm Trail Expo Center, 111 W. Purdue. More than 1,000 dogs will compete. For more information, call (641) 423-3811.
