Fling at the Springs

3 p.m. Saturday

Government Springs Park

Eight bands will perform at this year’s Fling at the Springs, an annual music event that highlights talent from around the region.

The schedule for this year is:

• 3-3:45 p.m.: Those Guyz with CiCi and Curt Daugherty

• 3:45-4:45 p.m.: Americana Deluxe, a local group

• 4:45 p.m.: Scott Carson, a man who has played at various venues around Enid and lives in Stillwater

• 5:30 p.m.: The Imposters

• 6:30 p.m.: Jacob Tovar and Friends

• 7:30 p.m.: Love’s It!

• 8:30 p.m.: Harwood, Roberts and Thompson, a local group

• 9:30 p.m.: Suede Panther, a contemporary rock ‘n’ roll group from Stillwater

Vendors will serve food and beverages at the park; ice chests are allowed.

EVENT [Saturday]

Enid Roller Girls bout versus Darkside, 7 p.m., Enid Event Center. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. For more information, call (580) 616-7362.

Tzigane Arts Products presents Words and Music with George and Ira Gershwin, 8 p.m., Gaslight Theatre, 221 N. Independence. Tickets are $10. To purchase, call (580) 540-8888 or 747-9495.

EVENT [Friday-Saturday]

Princess Ball, 6 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday, Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse, 200 E. Maple. Event is for girls ages 3-13 and their fathers. For reservatins, call (580) 233-2787.

Coming Feature ... Oktoberfest

Brats, beer and family activities all will be available Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, as the city of Enid celebrates Oktoberfest.

Brats and beer will be available for adults, while families will be able to enjoy face painting, pumpkin painting and a baking contest.

Oktoberfest essentially is October First Friday, so as usual, downtown businesses will be open late and have special events and sales.

A snapshot of next Friday’s activities include: bierocks at Angel Delight, live music in the Breezeway and sales at Grand Avenue Lighting.

A full listing of First Friday/Oktoberfest activities will be in next Friday’s GetOut section.

In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved to Q-Spot in downtown Enid.

Western Enterprises is scheduled to perform a fireworks show at 9 p.m.

There is no admission fee.
