Upgrades planned at OKC Nat'l Memorial & Museum

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum has unveiled plans for a new $7 million project that will upgrade the museum and offer more insights for visitors into the deadly attack that killed 168 people nearly two decades ago.

The plans were unveiled during a symbolic wall-breaking ceremony at the memorial and museum on Wednesday.

The five-phase project is expected to be completed in November. It will include moving and expanding the Gallery of Honor to include videos from family members of each of the 168 victims.

A new overlook balcony will give visitors a new view of the memorial, while new evidence from the investigation and trials after the bombing will be displayed.

Executive Director Kari Watkins says the upgrades will keep a new generation interested in the memorial.
